We are thrilled to announce that Tattu Leeds, the iconic restaurant inspired by the flavours and ingredients of modern Chinese cuisine, will reopen its doors on July 4th after a spectacular interior redesign. This nine-month creative journey has transformed our space into a breathtaking new experience, blending the elegance of traditional Chinese architecture with contemporary luxury.
Beginning on June 17th, Tattu Leeds will temporarily close to complete this aesthetic overhaul, marking the next chapter in our seven-year journey in this vibrant city. Renowned worldwide for our innovative design and meticulous attention to detail, we’re excited to unveil a fresh new look that reflects our commitment to staying ahead of the curve in the hospitality industry. While others may attempt to replicate our style, we’re proud to remain a true original.
At Tattu, our passion for delivering unique experiences is unwavering. Our parent company, Permanently Unique, spearheaded this extensive redesign to ensure that every moment spent in our space feels exceptional. Tattu Leeds has grown alongside the city, and we’re dedicated to reinvesting in Leeds to offer an unparalleled dining experience in a setting that’s as unique as our guests.
Inspired by the grandeur of traditional Chinese architecture, founders Adam and Drew Jones have woven a rich tapestry of royal blues, golds, and reds throughout the space, exuding sophistication and elegance. Bespoke furniture, crafted from dark timber and marble, pays homage to the timeless artistry of Chinese craftsmanship. The space is further enchanted by hand-painted murals featuring spirit animals, a nod to the rich tradition of Chinese storytelling.
The lighting design, inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns, features hanging pendant lights made from crackled, smoked glass, casting a warm and inviting glow over each table. Our private dining room has been reimagined with timber slat screens, heavy satin curtains for privacy, and upholstered walls that create an intimate atmosphere.
As part of our reopening, we’re also excited to introduce new dishes to our menu, curated by Head of Culinary Matt Downes and Group Operations Chef Thomas Southern. These include Char Siu Pork two ways with nashi pear and crackling, Crispy Kataifi King Prawns with mango and sweet chili, and Lemon Baby Chicken with toasted sesame, ginger, and soybean. Of course, our beloved classics like Caramel Soy Aged Beef Fillet and Lobster and Prawn Toast will remain.
“We’re delighted to have undertaken this project to create an incredible new space for the city to enjoy,” says co-founder Drew Jones. “Permanently Unique Group is all about delivering one-of-a-kind experiences. While imitation may be a form of flattery, it’s crucial for us as a market leader to continuously refine our offerings. We sourced all our products from the Far East, where craftsmanship and understanding of this style are unmatched. We can’t wait to welcome guests back to Tattu Leeds on July 4th to celebrate with us.”
